Dashboard allows multiple users to access a single printer’s data and each user to access data from multiple printers. Configure notification preferences and share notes about each print to customize the printing workflow.
Start by registering the Form 2 to connect with Dashboard. Once the Form 2 is registered to Dashboard and Dashboard logging is enabled on the printer, the Form 2 will send data to Dashboard as long as the printer’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet connections are able to access the internet.
Shared Printer Management
Multiple users can register an individual Form 2 serial name to their individual Dashboard account; each user can also register multiple Form 2 serial names to their account.
Implement a multiple printer operation by connecting each Form 2 to a network and sharing access to printer statuses, print data, and material tracking. To share access, each printer user should register their preferred printers’ serial names directly through Dashboard. All registered users can customize notification settings for each individual printer, and each printer’s print notes are shared across all registered users.
TIP:Dashboard starts sharing printer and print data once a user registers the printer and only when the Form 2 is network-connected.
Accessing, Annotating, and Sorting Print Data
Dashboard offers various options for viewing overall and individual print data. Use the Prints page to filter previous prints based on user-rated success votes or search previous prints by the job name saved in PreForm. Click on a specific print to see an enlarged render of the printed model and details about the print's start time and date, duration, resolution, layer count, and volume.
To manipulate Dashboard data hands-on, click "more" to use the “Download Data as CSV” option, which creates a .CSV file including all past prints that were uploaded during a network connection.
TIP:Use the Search option in Dashboard to search previous prints by the uploaded file name and to find helpful tips for configuring and maintaining your printer.
To refer back to print results, record the success of each print through Dashboard and/or the printer touchscreen. When the print completes, use the touchscreen to indicate whether each print job was a “Success” or “Failure,” or use Dashboard to vote on the print quality.
After selecting an individual print in Dashboard’s Print view, make notes to share with collaborators registered to the printer, including updates about the project or client, print quality, and recommended changes for the next iteration of this file.
To Ensure Accurate Logging
A print is logged on Dashboard each time a print is started while the printer is online, including aborted prints. To see data for a specific print and accurate material usage, the printer must be able to access the internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet when the print is started. To investigate missing print activity and printer events, check whether the Form 2’s Dashboard connection is fully enabled.
Providing Data Feedback to Formlabs
In order to view your print data on Dashboard, Dashboard Logging is automatically enabled from the “Settings” menu on the Form 2 touchscreen. Dashboard Logging grants you online access to your print times and volumes, resin types, and enables you to track the outcome of each print job.
The 3D model geometries are kept securely on your computer or printer and will never be shared with Formlabs or outside parties without your explicit consent.
Sharing data to Dashboard requires a separate permission from PreForm's data sharing option. Toggle PreForm's data collection setting from the PreForm menu bar by selecting “Help > Help Improve PreForm…” For specific details on privacy, data sharing, and access, please visit formlabs.com/privacy.
