Beyond tracking prints and print data, Dashboard’s Materials page tracks the active resin cartridges and resin tanks that are associated with each printer. From the Materials tab, view the types of resin, number of prints, and quantity of liters printed for all printers associated with your account.
Start by registering the Form 2 to connect with Dashboard. Once the Form 2 is registered to Dashboard and Dashboard logging is enabled on the printer, the Form 2 will send data to Dashboard as long as the printer’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet connections are able to access the internet.
Updating the Library
Dashboard’s Materials management tools allow users to individually name resin tanks and resin cartridges and remove inactive tanks and cartridges from the library.
For each resin type, Dashboard displays the quantity of cartridges and tanks with an icon for each one. By default, resin cartridges include the formulation number, which indicates the resin type and version. Each resin tank is also named with the formulation number once it is programmed by the Form 2 on its first use.
Use the “Edit” option to create new names for resin tanks and resin cartridges. Unique names save time and prevent confusion during set-up, especially when maintaining multiple cartridges or tanks with identical resin types. Consider naming schemes such as the date of first use or the primary project. For ease of access, label the resin tank and the top of the resin cartridge with the same name used in Dashboard.
To keep the materials library well-organized, only display active resin tanks and resin cartridges. At the end of the cartridge or tank’s lifetime, select “Edit” again, then choose the option to remove it from the library. Once removed from the library, a cartridge or tank will be added back once it is re-inserted in the Form 2.
Using Resin Tank Heat Maps
Prolong the lifetime of each resin tank with the Resin Tank Heat Map. Tanks are consumables that typically last for 1-2 L of resin depending on the material type and print settings. Certain areas of the tank’s silicone can wear down more quickly based on part orientation and laser exposure.
Dashboard includes a “heat map” for each resin tank associated with registered printer. The resin tank’s heat map visualizes the most used and unused areas. The visualization provides objective data to inform effective layout and orientation for future prints and to when a tank needs to be replaced. Tank heat maps are updated after each print. A darker shade means relatively more print layers for parts printed at that point than other places on the tank. The shading is not an absolute scale. Printing in less used (therefore, lighter) areas can extend the lifetime of tanks.

Tracking Resin Cartridge Usage
Dashboard also displays the estimated resin remaining for each cartridge used with the printer. The visual icon displays cartridge usage levels in one-quarter increments. When a resin cartridge is running low, Dashboard includes the option to place an order for additional cartridges.
TIPEnable the “Resin Low” notification setting to receive an SMS or email notification.
Dashboard does not know the exact quantity of resin in each cartridge, and the accuracy of resin usage estimates may vary. The resin cartridge’s estimated resin level is based on the amount of additional resin in the resin tank, which is sensed by the printer with each dispense cycle. The calculation for estimated cartridge resin levels is separate from Dashboard’s print statistics, which calculate resin usage based on the volume of prints uploaded and completed. During a print, if the Form 2 is not connected to Dashboard’s secure servers, Dashboard will not track the resin cartridge’s usage.
