Here is a collection of some of the hardware issues we have observed Form 1+ users experience in the field, along with their solutions.
“Clicking” During Peeling
When the right side of the resin tank rises after the peel between layers, there are two hooks known as the “hard stop hooks” designed to ensure the tank stops at the right height. Misalignment of the hard stop hooks may cause a clicking noise during peeling. To resolve this issue, gently bend the hooks so that they slide into the square holes next to the peel motor during each peel cycle.
The right side of the tank should lower and raise between print layers. Consider the orientation of the print to reduce the impact of the peel forces on the print quality. To reset the height of the peel motor between prints, press the button once to turn the printer off then again to power on. If the printer’s peel produces abnormal noises, contact support. A video of the tank moving up and down (with audio) or photos of the tank’s position may be useful to understand and resolve the problem.
Closed Cover Not Recognized
To protect your eyes, the Form 1+ uses a magnetic sensor to turn off the laser when the orange cover is open. Closing the cover and hitting the button will resume the print. If the printer does not recognize the closed cover, the display will say “Cover open. Please close cover.” Gently push the front of the cover left or right to re-align the magnetic sensor. If you continue to have problems, please submit a support ticket.
Resin Tank Becomes “Foggy”
After many prints, the PDMS layer at the bottom of the resin tank may become foggy. A whitish clouding will form where the tank has printed most. Over time, this clouding may degrade print quality or may cause parts to fail. When this fogging appears, print on a different section of the build area or replace the resin tank.
Loose Build Platform
For the best print quality and surface finish, the build platform should be securely fastened to the carrier arm. Clamp the lever all the way down, then check whether the build platform wiggles to the left or right. If the build platform wiggles or can be removed from the carrier arm without releasing the lever/clamp, the platform should be tightened or replaced.
Stuck Resin Tank
If you’re having trouble removing the resin tank from the printer, there is likely uncured or cured resin jamming the ball spring plungers that hold the tank in place. Before applying additional force to remove the tank, remove the build platform and ensure the black lid is on the tank. Then pull forcefully to release the resin tank. In addition to pulling on the tabs on the front side of the tank, it may be helpful to pull from the back side of the tank. Wiggle the tank from side to side to release the tank.
Once the tank is removed, check the four ball spring plungers (two on each side of the tank carrier) for spilled resin. Resin should always stay in the tank or on the surface of the build platform. Use conservative amounts of IPA to wipe the tank carrier and the bottom surfaces of the ball spring plungers. Use a dry paper towel to ensure the top and bottom surfaces of the tank’s side rails are free of any resin.
If the printer’s button is malfunctioning or does not work, try disconnecting and reconnecting the printer’s power cords. Once the printer is reconnected to power, press the button to power the printer on. Press the button again to power the printer off. If the button is still malfunctioning, contact support and let them know whether the printer’s motors or screen are working.

If the display is still malfunctioning, contact support and let them know whether the printer’s motors are working.
